Face yoga-

a natural Antiaging

With your own hands, in your own time and in the comfort of your home you can reduce signs of aging by practicing regularly. It works from the inside-out- toning the muscles, relaxing tension and boosting blood flow. Face Yoga is a combination of exercises, facial massage, acupressure and relaxation. Just as your body the facial muscles needs regular exercises to stay toned and firm. As the muscles become stronger the skin attached  to the muscles become firm and lifted, therefore less lines and wrinkles. With regularly  performed face massages you will increase the circulation, lymph flow and remove toxins. This helps to reduce puffines and dark circles and allow the skin to look healthier and younger.

I am certified Face Yoga teacher from The Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method and it would be my pleasure to accompony you in your face Yoga journey.

what is your ageing pattern?

While ageing is a privilege and a normal part of life, we all want to look and feel like the best versions of ourselves.
Below are three main types of ageing which are generic indicators based on distinct traits. You may have a combination of these as well, but there is generally one more dominant than the other.
Another good indicator is to look at your parents and how they aged. Of course lifestyle factors and stress can play a big role too.
Taking care of your face will definitely slow down but of course won't stop ageing, so why not age gracefully and look healthy, fresh and beautiful at any age.

sinking/volume loss

This type of ageing is associated mainly with volume loss and hollow/haggared appearance

mainly around the temples, under the eyes, mid face and below the cheekbones. We lose around 10% fat in our face at around 35 years and additional 5-10% after every 5-10 years. Rapid weight loss can accelerate this.

loss of skin elasticity

This type of ageing is associated mainly with skin sagging. The skin sagging away from facial muscles due to loss of connective tissue/ collagen and elastin. We can see this mostly around the mid and lower face as jowls, double chin, jawline and drooping mouth corners.

wrinkling

This type of ageing is associated with wrinkles, fine lines mainly due to repetitive facial expressions, muscel tention and skin laxity. You can see this as frown lines, forehead lines, crows feet, marionette lines, smile lines and chin lines. These start off as dynamic wrinkles, as for example when you make mimics, but with age can get static and permanent.

how can face yoga help?

Face yoga helps to lift and tone your facial muscles thereby slowing down the sign of ageing. It helps to relax facial muscle tension caused by mimics and prevents lines and wrinkles. Face yoga exercises strengthen the facial muscles and thereby the skin attached to the muscles become firmed and toned. It also boosts circulation and collagen production and improves skin plumpness and firmness.

upper face: 10 min face yoga

 smooth the brow

Put your fingers in the middle of your forehead and sweep outwards. Repeat for about 1 min or more. This boosts collagen and elastin production, blood circulation and reduces the horizontal and vertical lines of your forehead by releasing tension in this area.

flirty eyes

Make an O shape with your mouth. Put your index fingers under your eyes with the fingertips toward your nose. Look up and flutter with your upper eyelids. Hold for 10 sec and repeat 3 times. This strenghtens the muscle around your eyes and mouth. It lifts the lower part of the face and helps to reduce hooded eyes and the hollow under the eyes.

massage the temples

Put your index fingers on your temples and massage in a circle motion 10 times each way. Repeat 3 times. This relaxes the tension in your mind and the side of your face. It also boosts collagen and elastin in this area.

pinch the eyebrows

Start between your eyes and pinch your eyebrows outwards. Repeat for about 1 min. This increases collagen, elastin and bood flow. The result are reduced wrinkels.

 circle the eyes

Put your index fingers at the end of your eyebrows. Gently tap around your eyes. Repeat 10 times, then change the direction. This is great for reducing eye wrinkles, boosting circulation and relaxing the muscles around the eyes. It also helps to reduce bags and puffiness under the eyes by removing toxins.
